This section describes you about downloading, configuring and testing Netezza Linux ODBC driver. This process is tested on the Ubuntu 14.04. Netezza Linux ODBC Drivers are requires to connect to Netezza server from any client machine.
To connect to Netezza via ODBC, a Netezza ODBC driver must be downloaded and installed.Next, an ODBC data source must be set up via the Windows data sources control panel. See thefollowing link for more information on how to set up an ODBC data source:ODBC SetupManually configuring the Netezza JDBC ConnectionFor details on how to manually configure the Netezza JDBC connection, see the followingManual Netezza JDBC Configuration
Hi kali786, You can download it from netezza web site like below: -01.ibm.com/software/data/netezza/ Please feel free to ask if you have any question. Thanks,Eileen
(For now, I'm going to use the Aginity export feature, to CSV, and then use SSIS to import the CSV. If I do eventually find the OLEDB driver, I may be interested in this link: -01.ibm.com/support/docview.wssuid=swg21988802&mhsrc=ibmsearch_a&mhq=netezza%20driver%20oledb)
Locate the RPM for the Hive ODBC driver distributed by your Hadoop vendor. In some cases, the RPM will be available ina YUM repository. In other cases, you may need to download the ODBC driver from the vendor's website.
The Oracle ODBC drivers must be installed on the Immuta server in order to enable support for Oracle data sources. TheRPM that needs to be installed is oracle-instantclient12.1-odbc and is available from Oracle. Visit -64soft-092277.htmland download both oracle-instantclient12.1-basic-12.1.0.2.0-1.x86_64.rpm andoracle-instantclient12.1-odbc-12.1.0.2.0-1.x86_64.rpm. Install these RPMs with the following:
The JDBC driver consists of one or multiple jar files. The Jar file is a library which contains program code and some other files. You need to download the driver's jar files before adding them to DBeaver. Sometimes the jar files are included in the database server distribution - in that case you need to refer to your database documentation or ask your DBA.
DBeaver can download driver jars directly from the Maven repository (it is a global public repository of Java libraries, usually an open-source). If your database driver is published on some public repository you can use this feature. Maven artifacts are better than plain jar files because you can see all existing driver versions and can change the driver version in runtime without any driver properties reconfiguration.
With netezza instead of odbc in your code it is attempting to use the Netezza engine which requires that specific license. And you may want to use DATAsrc=NZSQL instead of DSN. From the documentation:
From this link, the Microsoft ODBC drivers for SQL Server can be downloaded and installed. Depending on which Windows operating system version (32-bit or 64-bit) is used, there are two versions of the Microsoft ODBC drivers for SQL Server that can be installed:
In case that the wrong version of the Microsoft ODBC drivers for SQL Server is trying to be installed (e.g. x86\\msodbcsql.msi on the Windows 64-bit version), the following warning message will appear:
For the IBM Netezza driver, enter org.netezza.Driver. Before you use JDBC, verify that your system has the Java runtime environment installed. You need JRE Release 1.5 or later, or JRE 1.7 or later if your Netezza host runs release 7.1.0.0 or later and uses SP 800-131a cryptography.
Netezza JDBC Driver Netezza provides JDBC driver, you can use that driver from any programming language that supports JDBC connections such as Java, Python etc. You can download JDBC driver from IBM fix central site. You should have jdbc jar by the name nzjdbc.jar.
Create a database descriptor to connect to a Netezza table. Specify properties supported by the Netezza JDBC driver. dbDesc := netezza::connect( url = 'jdbc:netezza://host:port/db-name', properties = {user: \"username\", password: 'Passw0rd' } ); Optional: Add a credential file.
The ODBC driver manager and driver will connect, typically over a network, to the database server. For more information on pyodbc, see the Github Pyodbc Wiki . Once a connection has been established, your application can execute selects, inserts, or other ODBC operations supported by your driver and database.
Connecting to ODBC databases from Python with pyodbc The section below provides a Python code sample that shows you how to connect to a database using the functions of the pyodbc module and Devart ODBC driver that implements the ODBC standard in data mapping.
I installed an odbc driver with a package in powershell. But I want to test the connection of this odbc driver using Powershell, without installing SQL Server. The \"Invoke-Sql\" command comes with SQL 2008 (R2).
Note: The purpose for above share is, that when you develop your Python code with Pycharm on MacOS and if your code needs connection to Netezza, you can not run it on MacOS, since there is no Netezza drivers. Instead, when following this guide, you will be able to run you Pycharm edited code seamlessly on the LinuxVM through ssh connection, and once confirmed to work, you can commit your changes.Install Python 3.6 with pyodbc, pandas and sqlalchemyLog in to LinuxVM as root and run following commands:
On distributed platforms, you do need not to install any Db2 ODBC client driver for connectivity. ibm_db itself downloads and installs an odbc/cli driver from IBM website during installation. Just install ibm_db and it is ready for use.
npm install ibm_db internally downloads and install platform specific clidriver of recent release from here.To avoid this download, you can manually download clidriver from this location or install any verison of IBM Data Server Driver Package or Db2 Client or Sever in your system and point the install directory using IBM_DB_HOME environment variable. If IBM_DB_HOME or IBM_DB_INSTALLER_URL is set, npm install ibm_db do not download clidriver.
ibm_db works with all supported versions of Db2 Client and Server. Instead of using open source driver specific clidriver for ibm_db, you may download and install DSDRIVER or DB2Client from IBM Fix Central or IBM Passport Advantage of Db2 V11.1.0.0 onwards. 1e1e36bf2d
